Ok ,

as we've had a small problem with some users on the Trading Section, I've added a system that only allows users with 25 or more posts to be able to start a thread and atleast 15posts or more to be able to reply to a thread.

Rules updated here:
http://coolercasesuk.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17

thanks guys

Ben

i mean i am selling a few items there now and you kinda are penalising me now, since i dont have enough, posts. I no longer can post to my own, threads and find it hard to let people know that the item may be sold or still available

why would you penalise me?

the rule where you can reply to a thread, you only need 15 doesnt seem to be working?

it says you need 25

its not a personal attack on you darren1678. Just make the required number of posts and you'll be albe to reply to your trading thread. 25 isn't a hard number to reach

your right it isn't a personal attack, i know this but shouldn't we have been informed, then a grace period. where any new members who joined, the rules would apply, but anyone who joined before this date would be given a grace period where they can continue as normal with the old rules and be allowed if they want to, make up enough posts.

at least they should have given us a few days notice! on quite a major change.

i gnerally only post in the "trade section" because i have found it a usefull avenue for getting parts that i find hard to find and maybe selling a few of my own parts.

At least the rules are not many pages long like
some other trading forums i can think of.

15 to reply
25 to start a thread..

also we had to put the rule in place will all current members as well. Or it would make it pointless. Sorry to trouble your sale. But you still can reply to it. And in another 5 posts time you be able to start new threads again.

Id like to know exactly what the "problems with some users" were. I have paid for and am awaiting a radiator from a member he had no problem with dealing with me.

we had some issues with some people joining and abusing the trade section...

It was my idea to put a minimum post counts on the Trading Section to discourage any kind of dishonest trading and also to stop the forum turning into a mini ebay.

The thought behind it is that its pretty easy to spot genuine members after 25 posts taking at least some of the risk out of buying/selling to first time posters.

It was inevitable that there would be some that got caught up in the transitional period and for that i apologise but i'm sure you will agree that it is for the benefit of all in the long run.

count yourselves lucky - if it were me - i'd ask for at least 100 posts before anyone gets the privelage of flogging owt!

10post before PM accessible.

I said in my first post that since I was buying then I would pay in advance, and I cant really see how a seller can be ripped off this way. The only one who can be burned is the buyer, if paying in advance; and that is standard procedure. I had one user ask to recieve the goods in advance, and I refused (in another forum). Buyer always pays first cause then they cant get the seller to send it then decide they dont want it.

Limit starting new threads in the trading section for new members unless there is some scam that Im not aware of.

The rules are there to hopefully help protect buyers and sellers.

One that sticks in my mind was this bad experience (http://coolercasesuk.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1067) that happened to OV3RCLOCK3R which never got sorted out (not to my knowledge anyway) and maybe could have been prevented if we'd had something like the minimum post count in place.

I could get on my soap box about other stuff here but we'll see how it goes as is and make any changes if need be.

Rest assured though megatron there is nothing personal towards you here.

Ofcourse nothing personal, but more buyers is better for seller's no? See above that buyers are safer than sellers.

Just checked out the link, its a buyer, Ive heard stories of 13 yr olds defrauding people on ebay. I think u probably made trading safer here but imo a little heavy handed, I wouldnt have been able to buy a radiator if I had to be an active member here. Since I have been able to my post count has only gone up though.

Anyhow, just my opinion; I dont disagree with the measures ur taking.

"I am selling for a friend"

Not a good sign, I know other forums have specific rules against this.

Of course but the forum as a whole is more than just a Trading Section for newcomers to peddle their wares surly and i don't see how 25/15 posts would be a hardship to any genuine would be member and certainly a small price to pay for having free advertising to an ever increasing audience.

If they cant make a new post they cant peddle their wares, and therefore not sellers but point taken.:P

Well that explains things! HAdn't posted for a while and was wondering why I couldn't advertise my gear on the trading forum. Oh well, have to head on over to Bit for trades until my post count grows here.

How about a rule saying you cant delete prices after a sale has gone through? Just saw it in the trading section and I never could work out why someone changes the £price to £sold.:?: Unless they have more to sell.
