isn't it the same way as if you were doing it with 1 graphics card. have you been able to do it before. if not, please let me know, and i can try and help you. by the way, it is better that you have the same displays.

the thing which i think ppl r missing [or i am completely wrong, which is quite probable] is that when u have 2 gfx cards they aren't necessarily in sli. u can have the 2 gfx cards and each will power its own displays [i.e. there is no exchange of data between the 2] or u can have them both powering the same display [sli mode where data is sent from one to the other].

there is the option in windows to change this, i don't know where i am not fortunate enough to own an sli system, but in sli mode u cannot have more than one display. change the setting to the other one and u can have 4 displays at the same time.

bob's your uncle, fanny's your aunt, ur laughing!!

I have done my research and when you enable scalable link interface you join the two video cards together one as master and one as slave, the master uses the power of the slave to scale up its own power, this is then all pushed out of the one single port on the card. the master card and port are which ever one you connect your monitor to, when SLI is disable you can use all ports as the cards are running individiually. This is crap in my eyes as i have spent a fortune on an sli setup and i cant even do a simple thing like connect two displays.

exactly the reason i didnt go SLI - pointless really when a couple of months later ONE gfx card will come out that will pee on both your old ones aswell as the point you mention :(

was thinking of dumping two 7800GT's and a new tft into my system but - wt'eck - no point really.....hmmmm - time for a new car whilst meh waits for socket M2 me tinks :P

I can totally understand the disappointment as to me it just doesn't make sense to have two cards in Sli but only be able to run on monitor

.....i'm just glad that wasn't the reason behind me getting them as i'd have been well pee'd off though having said that, i've never really had the urge to drive 2 monitors but when i found out i couldn't, i immediately wanted too :'( LOL

I think they will developed drivers to do so though!

aye, it's only a software issue and will be sorted soon, it has something to do with how SLI scans half the pic with one card and the other half with the second card.
