Hi everyone, first post on the forum.
After reading several project logs, namely Leeum's project moondust, and coolmeister's several wavemaster projects I've got the modding bug.

For about two months i have been drawing up a few ideas and deciding what parts to use.
Last week i took the plunge and ordered nearly all of it. the credit card had a beating.

The home for my project :: Sleeping with the fishes :: will be Thermaltake's soprano case in the piano black finish. I decided on the project name as 'Soprano' sounds quick Godfatherish

I set a tight budget on the case at £50 and i didnt really want to go up to £70 for the Tsunami dream. ( + i love the shiny finish of the soprano )

Inside will be parts from my current PC and parts i have upgraded. I'm building this to be a mid-ranged pc which can pretty much do any task i throw at it.
I'm planning on the upgrade to PCI-E next year when i'll be getting a new processor, sli mobo, matched gpu's and probably adding a chipset waterblock and possibly hdd and psu waterblock.

I'll be running;

Pentium 4 HT 3.0Ghz
Asus motherboard
1024mb DDR Ram
Nvidia 6600GT AGP
160GB Seagate baracuda (EIDE)
80GB Seagate baracuda (SATA)
Cheapo 500w PSU

The watercooling gear i'm using will be;

XSPC Dual 120mm fan radiator
XSPC single 120mm fan radiator
Alphacool skt 775 CPU waterblock
Dangerden Maze4 GPU Waterblock
Cape Coolplex radiator
XSPC DC1000 Pump
1/2" tube all round.
Dark blue UV water dye, and of course the water.

can't wait, r u going to be doing anything custom to the case, like painting the inside?

tbh i think hdd and psu water blocks are unnecessary. But the rest of it sounds good.

i saw the dangerden HDD block and it looked pretty good. it could be a possible overkill.
what i think i'll do is setup the cooling system and then if I see a need for more nice plexi bits then i'll see about getting them.

i'm planning to top mount the twin rad in the roof of the case. and the single rad on the back below the PSU.
I've got only Akasa amber series fans to try and keep the noise down.

I'm planning dark blue UV dye. i've seen the light uv dye used and it seemed to fade and dissapear after so long. and it doesnt actually dye the water under regular light.

that is the proposed layout for the water cooling setup

don't bother with the hdd block or psu block, defo over kill. I've got some akasa amber fans on my rad and their brilliant, move a decent amount of air and are very quiet. you wont need a single rad, the twin one will cope plenty enough. I've got a 120.2 cools my over clocked cpu and gpu no probs

i'm just wondering if i should have the fans on the top rad mounted as intake or exhaust...?

i've already bought the single rad too. dont really want to waste it.

i was thinking of going sli next year so do you think it would be worth building it into the loop in preperation for that?

yep, ive got a Dual rad, and thats gonna hopefully keep my OC'ed Opty 146, Asus Sli-Deluxe chipset and X1800 cool,

so for your budget, i would save money, and get a decent braded PUS (targan, akasa) and some better hardware...

Also, welcome!!!

Edit: instead of posting lots of single posts, use the edit button, it keeps everything nice and tidy!!

your dual rad will cope fine with sli, infact it'll cool two 7900gt's in sli easy. you really only ever need two rads if your having two loops, but then you get two the same size. just sell the single rad. and as mankz mentioned get a decent PSU, biggest mistake when people build systems is to get a cheap PSU. problem is they can never give out the wattage stated, or worse it'll blow and take an componant with it
