I have recently finished my first wc rig and i am a bit worried that i am not get the best cooling.

Could somebody tell me what would be the best set up with my fans and rad(see attachment). I currently have the fans blowing air up through the rad but am think that i should either:
1) put the fans on top of the rad sucking air up through the rad(as hot air rises)
2) or just swap the fans around and have the in the same position but have them sucking air down through the rad.

I have no vents in the top of my case so that might help in deciding the best method.
my cpu tems currently are on full load using prime95 49c (it never goes anymore tha that) and idle around 38c
Its a AMDfx 57 overclocked to 3.0ghz using 14x215.

I think these temps are too high for the kit i am using

Looks like a BIX2 rad, what fans are they?, (look like Noiseblockers, higher static pressure fans will give better results).

Try swapping the fans to pull air through the rad, and use shrouds (gutted fan carcases work well) to lessen the dead spot effect and reduce noise.

i'm guessing this is an old pic!

yeah they are noise blockers. where can i get those higher static pressure fans from?

Aslo hall i just turn the fans round or shall i put them on the top sucking air up?

On top m8 sucking air through the rad.

Dense cored rads such as BIX, HE series etc. work better with more powerful fans, less dense cores such as BIP, PA series etc. need less powerful fans.

Generally 38mm thick fans such as Panaflo or NBM-MAT iirc they are called now give higher pressure, though some more powerful 25mm thick fans will work very well.
I have some 25mm thick Papst 4412 F/2 GL currently on a HE120.3 and they perform well on a noise/performance ratio, and I've heard good reports from other users of the cheaper Xinrulian fans.

I would keep the fans underneath but have them pulling through to avoid the need for fan guards, though as it is external it won't make much of a difference performance wise.

Just get a dual fan shroud. With a shroud, those fans will be fine.

i say, stick them on the top so they suck air up through the rad. this also means you can lower down the rad slightly,
