To cut the long story short. I noticed recently problems with my sound. i decided to run the diagnostic utility. turns out the card is sending the channels to random speakers. it gets the front left and right channels. but it sends the rear channels to the front speakers and the subwoofer channel to the left front speaker. All my cables are connected properly. the setup is right. The card has lost the plot. If i ever buy creative again may my d!ck fall off.
Please help me sort it out cause if it carries on for a few more days im taking the card out and sticking it up the arse of the nearest creative rep.
edit---

ahahaha now it sends the rear left tot he center channel. i havent touched the cables. it is exactly as it was before. I bow to creative. it takes some high level stupidity to do this. I got a feeling it happened when i updated to the latest drivers. the same drivers that took half a year to be developed and that they solved less than half of the critical issues the card has.

Id better check the channels on my setup to i guess, its the first time iv used the sound card today since departing with my wonderful ASUS board for a Gigabyte nightmarish but barable motherboard.

I do recall that Creative claimed to have fixed the channel mix up in a number of games like Quake 4 with their latest drivers, but if they've screwed up and forgot to test ordinary desktop postitional sound i would'nt be surprised.

yea im positive everything is fine. i checked the cables countless times. i also checked the control panel many times. the card has simply lost the plot. from the creative forums i discovered that it might be cause by incompatibility between logitech software and creative drivers. now how my mouse/keyboard driver affects the sound driver i dont know but creative isnt worth shit anymore. not too happy about logitech either. the bluetooth receiver merely a foot away from keyboard and mouse and they both lag or completely skip sometimes. logitech my ass... good ol cables from now on and ill stay away from creative stuff altogether.
