I'm very exited about it. reminds me of christmas.
Only weighs in at 1250kg an with 200 horses under the bonet it should go quite well *understatement*.
French cars always have more flair than others imo.
I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow.

"Show us your drives"
Means so much to us computer-car geeks on so many levels...
I'm quite impressed with that pun even if I do say so myself.
I still think they shouldnt have scraped the 3.2litre v6 version.

i agree but it was more of a toy than an every day car...
The renault sport clio 197 (the one i'm looking forward to testing 2mrw :D:D)
is much more of an all rounder... meant to be the best hot hatch ever....
I saw an article in evo magazine where it pissed on a new bmw m6 from a very great height around b-roads....

its an old mini (I dont like the new ones at all) 1.3l, I know the engine and such has been done up, i'll list specifics soon, but I know its having some changes made to it.
Yeh new mini's are butt ugly

i love the old mini's, can't stand the new ones there's nothing 'mini' about them and they've got no character either

that new type r looks awesome.....
i went for the test drive on saturday in the new clio 197....
it was really really nice inside and looking like it was as hard as a trained killer on the outside.
really really smooth and went like a bat out of hell...
Just one problem :'( the f*ckin renault rep nearly landed the £17,500 car in the back of a caravan on the dual carraigeway doin over 100mph showing off.
scared the crap out of my fiance. what a 'merchant banker'
so i'm not sure if i'll be buying on from there
I never understood why you would spend £17,500 on a clio, you could get a decent spec ford mondeo/laguna/407 for that!

its nice, quite space-ship but i think it will grow on me.
i've decided against the clio now... like you all said it is quite expensive for the car.
I'm trying to track down the previous model. The renault sport 182 trophy special edition.
you can pick these up with under 8k mileage for arount the £10k mark so I think that might be the way to go.
http://www.channel4.com/4car/media/R/renault/clio/03-large/05-trophy-f3q-f.jpg
or if that proves to be too hard to find i'll go for the regular clio sport 182.

10k sounds a bit more realistic, and what you only loose 10bhp, but doesnt the new one carry more weight aswell, so it probably needs the extra power to keep with the older 182. much better buy imo

if I had that kind of money i'd probably end up spending the excess cash on tuning up the car.

for 18k u could buy a really big motorhome and travel the world in it... at least it has beds, toilet, cooker, fridge etc.
Think I could find somthing better to spend my 18k on other than one car what does the same job as any other car dont ya think?
£5,000 car does the same as a £18,000 car, maybe slower but with speed cameras every 5 meters these days ant worth it. just my view :P

buying a car is a status symbol well is in my line of business, if i turn up to a cliet in an old crappy car they think hmmm he does do much work cant be very good, but if i turn up in a 60k merc or there abouts they think wow where paying way over the odds to this guy so a medium priced car which nowadays is between 15-20k is spot on to look like a reputable company

u dont understand spending a lot on what is essentially a cheap car :s
for 18k you could get a 2nd hand TVR or Lotus or something :D
Cryonic
12-08-2006, 02:45 PM
hehe best thing about TVR - u pay £50 for a woman in blackpool to go up some stairs pick out the service history of your car and tell you lol.
